Casa Angelina
Amalfi Coast, Italy
Casa Angelina takes the opposite approach to most of the Amalfi Coast. Where the region trades in majolica tile and painted ceramic, this hotel is almost entirely white — walls, floors, furnishings — so that the contemporary art placed through the building, and the sea beyond the terraces, supply all the colour. The cliffside position gives every public space a horizon. Glasswork features heavily in the collection, which suits a building designed to hold light rather than compete with it.
